‘Tis the Season to be Jolly…
… Jolly because of all that butter and sugar you’re consuming. Oh my.
I’ve been baking a bit this winter break…
- Roasted chestnut cookies rolled in cinnamon powdered sugar from smittenkitchen (no photo available)
- two batches of caramel sauce (one with the addition of spiced rum)

FINALLY. Another recipe. It’s been a while… but this has been one of the coolest things I’ve ever baked. It was my second time EVER working with yeast and it was definitely not as intimidating as I thought it would be. The first time I used yeast I made pizza dough and that’s such a distant memory… This second experience working with yeast was somehow more...

I never realized how terrified I was of honesty until today. My nerves are tingling, my head aches dully, and my stomach is lodged in my esophagus. Nasty. Maybe it’s because there’s so much to lose, and so much I need to say. Maybe it’s because this means I need to face ugly things of my past, some which I still cannot handle without shuddering.
All that I can think about...
On Haircuts and Paris
I love, love, love her style and smile! She totally reminds me of a younger and more boyish Audrey Tautou, who by the way, is coming out with a movie where she plays Coco Chanel. Sigh. I must remember to watch Amelie once more before I watch “Coco avant Chanel”… my inner francophile is dying. :(
On a lighter note, I wonder if I could pull off hair like that… ;)...

God, I love this song.
I hope I end up marrying a guy who
1) listens to good music (like this). 2) will slow dance with me to this Bright Eyes song. 3) is willing to wear converse/vans at our wedding.
